Turtle Creek Winery in Boston's Backyard

The Turtle Creek 2007 Sauvignon Blanc was entered into our recent Sauvignon Blanc blind tasting and did very well. We thought this wine was Very Good. It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is from Napa Valley, California but vinified, aged, and bottled in Lincoln, Massachusetts. 78 cases were produced. The retail cost of the wine is $15.00 per bottle.

Turtle Creek is a small scale winery located in Lincoln, Massachusetts just outside of Boston. According to their website, Turtle Creek Winery strives to produce excellent, hand-crafted wines combining traditional techniques with modern technology to preserve the integrity of the grape. They restrict vineyard yield, hand sort, and vinify their wines in the most gentle way.

The Turtle Creek Winery presently produces about five hundred cases per year. With additional vineyard space leased from the Town of Lincoln they expect to eventually grow to one thousand cases per year. Their plantings include Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. They also purchase fruit from California, Long Island, and the Finger Lakes.

There are no direct retail sales at the winery and visits are limited to occasional private tastings and tours. They announce new releases by e-mail. If you would like to receive announcements, you can send them your email address (see below). They take orders over the telephone and can arrange free delivery in Lincoln, Concord, and Lexington for orders of one case or more. You must be at least 21 years of age to order and a verified signed release by someone at least that age will be required upon delivery. For more information or to contact the Turtle Creek Winery:
