Skinner to Host Auction of Fine Wine in Boston

Skinner, Inc. will hold an auction of Fine Wines on May 4th at 4 p.m. in its Boston gallery at 63 Park Plaza. Through its partnership with Lower Falls Wine Company of Newton, MA, Skinner will offer more than 750 lots of fine wines.

Of particular note are twenty cases of 1982 first growth Bordeaux. Eleven cases of Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1982 alone come from one singular cellar. Because there are eleven lots of the Chateau Lafite Rothschild going up for bid, serious buyers looking to toss their hat into the ring stand a fair chance of winning this near-perfect history-making vintage. Each case lot is currently estimated at $40,000 to $60,000. Also featured in the auction are seven lots, of which six are full cases, of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1982. Critic Robert Parker proclaimed "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux" and awarded it 100 pts. Full cases are estimated at $12,000 to $18,000.

"This auction is rich with wines of the finest vintages and finest vineyards on earth. Perhaps in this auction more than any other, there's truly something for everyone." says Marie Keep, Director of Fine Wines for Skinner. To arrange for a preview, please contact Marie Keep, Director of Skinner's Fine Wines Department, at (508) 970-3296 or mkeep@skinnerinc.com. Skinner is also currently accepting consignments for its Fall 2011 auction of Fine Wines and can accept a single noteworthy bottle or an entire collection.
